As many of you may have noticed, in SubEthaEdit there's a "mystical" switch in the preferences called "Use screen fonts" for all those like me who don't like bitmap fonts that appear with some fonts on screen when using Apple's default setting.
Starting with Panther you can specify a antialiasing threshold of down to 4 which is causes most fonts to antialias almost always. However, the monospaced fonts that have bitmaps (like monaco) in it still refuse to antialias. But theres a defaults value that you can set to make them antialias to:
defaults write NSGlobalDomain AppleScreenAdvanceSizeThreshold -float 4
